Accessibility at the Memorial Centre
The Peterborough Memorial Centre is committed to meeting the diverse needs of all people and following the principles of dignity, independence, integration, and equal opportunity. Below is information about the accessibility features of the arena, as well as some services to make your experience enjoyable.
NEW Assistive Listening Technology - ListenWiFi
The Peterborough Memorial Centre has deployed a new, free, assistive listening solution to assist guests who are hard of hearing. Using the ListenWIFI app on your smartphone (free download from the App Store or Google Play), or dedicated receivers, which can be borrowed at the Guest Experience Desk near Gate 1, you can stream intended audio (i.e. play-by-plays or broadcasts) directly to your hearing aid, cochlear implant, or earbuds.
Do you have a telecoil-enabled device (hearing aid or cochlear implant)? If so, there is a receiver that can be used with a neck loop. Once your device is in the “T” setting, the neck loop will send the sound signal from the receiver directly to the telecoil. If you are unsure if you have a telecoil in your device, please consult with your hearing health practitioner as it requires activation at your clinic.
To learn more about ListenWiFi pick up an information sheet at our Guest Experience Desk, which is active during events only.
Wheelchair Accessible & Limited Mobility Seating
Wheelchair accessible seating is available for all games and events at the Memorial Centre on a first come, first served basis. The location of these seats varies by event. Call the Grant Thornton Box Office at 705-743-3561 to purchase a wheelchair accessible or limited mobility seat. Companion seating is also available, and there is a limit of one companion per accessible seat.
Support Persons
If you are a support person joining a customer with a disability, you must also purchase a ticket to attend the game or event.
Service Animals
Licensed service animals are welcome at the Memorial Centre, with supporting documentation. An aisle seat is recommended.
Parking and Drop-Off
We have on-site accessible parking spaces along the west side of the Memorial Centre, available on a first-come, first- served basis. There is also drop-off area at the front of the building on Lansdowne Street W. See our Parking & Getting Here page for more information about parking spaces and gate locations.
Entrances, Elevators and Washrooms
Accessible entrances and elevators are located at the north end and south-west corner of the Memorial Centre. There are two accessible washrooms on each level.
Have an accessibility concern?
Anyone can report a barrier to accessibility that prevents a person with a disability from accessing a City service, program, information or a facility. All feedback related to accessibility is captured in a central location for analysis and record keeping. Feedback is used to help identify, prevent and remove barriers in a timely manner and help prioritize accessibility improvements.
