COVID-19: The PMC's Plan for Reopening Safely

The global COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way we interact with each other. The Peterborough Memorial Centre is committed to providing quality live entertainment in a safe and fun format. Here’s what we’re doing to keep you, our performers, and our staff safe:

TIAO Safe Travel Stamp

The PMC is delighted to announce it has been awarded the #SafeTravels Stamp. The Safe Travels Stamp is an international symbol designed to allow travellers to recognize governments and companies around the world, which have adopted health and hygiene, standardized protocols–so consumers can experience ‘Safe Travels’.

Grant Thornton Box Office – Online Experience

  • We have upgraded our ticketing software to improve the user experience online. Ticket sales are easily available online which reduces the need for in-person interaction to buy tickets
  • Customers can now access any credits they may have on the customer account online
  • Gift certificates can now be used to purchase tickets online
  • Customers can choose to receive their tickets by email. These tickets can then be scanned off any smart phone or mobile device, which further reduces in-person interaction to pick up tickets

Grant Thornton Box Office – In Person Experience

  • Once the current Stay-At-Home order is lifted, the Grant Thornton Box Office will be open by appointment only. This will help manage the capacity in the office and will allow time for cleaning between customers
  • Our pinpads have been upgraded to enable the “tap” function for payments
  • Pinpads are sanitized between each customer
  • Box Office doors are propped open so customers don’t have to touch the door handles
  • Public Health guidelines must be followed. At this time, this includes:
    • Self-screening must be completed before entering the facility
    • Face coverings are mandatory
    • Physical distancing guidelines must be followed. There are markers on the floor to help people stay 6-feet apart
    • Hands must be washed or sanitized regularly. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility

Attending Events at the PMC

  • The self-screening questionnaire must be completed before entering the PMC for any reason
  • Tickets can be scanned off a mobile device. Improved scanner technology enables tickets to be scanned from a further distance, so the person scanning the ticket and the customer do not need to be in close contact with each other
  • Public Health guidelines must be followed. At this time, this includes:
    • Face coverings are mandatory
    • Physical distancing guidelines must be followed. There are markers on the floor to help people stay 6-feet apart
    • Hands must be washed or sanitized regularly. Hand sanitizer is available throughout the facility
  • Doors will be propped open as much as possible, to reduce the need to touch door handles
  • Common areas, including door handles, accessible door operators and countertops, will be cleaned regularly
  • Washrooms will be cleaned bi-hourly
  • In the event of cancellation, you will receive a full refund. We're working with Event Organizers to ensure that you have options if the event is postponed or rescheduled.

Safety is our priority. We have taken enhanced health and safety measures for you, our artists, and employees, and we will continue to adapt to adhere to the latest Public Health guidelines. An inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 exists in any public place where people are present. COVID-19 is an extremely contagious disease that can lead to severe illness and in some cases death. You must follow all posted instructions while attending events at the PMC. By attending events at the PMC you voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Let’s work together to help keep each other healthy!
